Real talk, I never actually check email. It's the bane of my existence. But I actually READ The Joy List and... it's so fucking good!!!! It sends waves of good vibes like no other written content. Thanks for making it.

The Joy List officially worked itself into my weekly routine, and helps me plan what I'm doing. I needed this list.

From TRACY

I so appreciate the spirit of this newsletter. As a native New Yorker, I have had periods of loneliness where it is hard to meet like-minded people. Loneliness has been a painful struggle for me, but I am determined to get out there and organically meet like minded people.

I appreciate your boldness in putting it out there that it can be hard to connect, even in a place of 8 million people. Keep up the luminous work that you do to help an introvert get out of herself!

Jillian! Thank you so much for your mission of bringing New Yorkers together through joy and connection! I have yet to attend a Joy List event–it’ll happen in July I promise!– but just receiving your emails these past couple months kindles my heart. Looking forward to meeting you in the nearest of futures! Love and light to you!

FROM JESSE, FOUNDER OF MEDI CLUB

I recently met another amazing person who learned about Medi Club through The Joy List. Not only was she stoked about Medi, but she expressed to me how much she loves The Joy List– how much it’s meant to her, and added happiness and color to her life.

Thank you for continuing to support this community in all the ways you do!

I've been to a couple of events since I signed up for The Joy List, and have been sharing it with friends. Because of the newsletter, I went to my first 5Rhythms dance class! It was amazing.

Even when I'm traveling and away, I still enjoy reading about the collection of events you are sharing with us!

FROM JOSH, FOUNDER OF AMERICA JOSH

The Joy List has had an incredible effect on Dinner With New Friends. Not only did we immediately see an influx of members signing up only minutes after it was sent out, but we also see the effects in the dinners themselves. The people who arrive from The Joy List are friendly, fun, and always looking to make the best out of every chance they get. I couldn’t have asked for a better partner and promoter than Jillian’s amazing collection of incredible humans.

FROM LAURA

While my work is remote, I am based in NYC. I've been feeling a little down about the lack of community builders based here, but you've given me a glimmer of hope.

You really are bringing joy to people’s inboxes. I nearly cried reading this Joy List for some reason. Just seeing how many incredible intentional events are happening in New York makes me feel hopeful and fulfilled, even though I can’t make a single one. I want to be at every single one and that’s what is important and awesome. Even more so, I’ve always felt like I really want my friends to know about all the events I go to and used to include them in my own newsletter, but now I can just forward this to them and tell them this is where you will find everything I love. THANK YOU! You are a gem.

FROM CONOR

It's incredible that you are doing this work and creating spaces and vocabulary for people who experience loneliness— to recognize this about themselves. You also give them stories that they can connect with, that can show them they're not alone in their loneliness. I'm very grateful I found my way to you and this community.

I checked out The Joy List and loved the concept, since I’m a single dad who’s always exploring the city alone. Thank you!

I joined The Joy list a couple of weeks ago, and I must say: I love it! Your emails are utterly charming, and your suggestions very interesting.

Finding events and activities where I can connect with open-minded and welcoming people and have meaningful conversations is very important to me, especially given that I am relatively new to New York; I moved here from Europe 10 months ago.

FROM MONIQUE

I just wanted to reach out and email you and just say THANK YOU for The Joy List. I was introduced to it buy a friend as I am British and was feeling super alone here and this is my third email in and I love it. I just wanted to let you know I appreciate this so much.

As someone who is trying to find my own community here in NYC, trying my hand at entrepreneurship for the first time, trying to make some social impact with mindfulness and nurture my own personal growth, mentally and spiritually, I have realized how important it is to find a community that share some of the same values and energy.

Congratulations for having the bravery to find your voice! It’s really inspiring for someone like me who is on their own journey too!

The Joy List has helped me to find and grow within communities that I've come to value over most of my 20's. Your newsletter has helped me find opportunities to recharge myself personally, as well as to find new friends.
